The museum is housed in a 17th century house with no lift and unfortunately access is limited. Visitors in wheelchairs or those with limited mobility are welcome to access the ground floor of the museum through the side entrance which is up a short steep hill and a step into the building. There is no parking onsite but you can access the site down Castle Hill. Large print information is available on request.

Please see the Lancashire County Council Access Statement for The Judges’ Lodgings Museum, Lancaster, for specific guidance related to the planning of your visit, the accessibility of the building itself and the support available at the Judges Lodgings to ensure your visit is an enjoyable as possible.

Many of the staff and volunteers have completed relevant training including disability, deaf and dementia awareness.
