The volunteer programme at Judges’ Lodgings is run by Lancashire County Council through the Lancashire Volunteer Partnership. We are currently looking for two areas of volunteers:
Volunteers are needed to create a warm, friendly and welcoming environment for our visitors. This enables them to find out more about our beautiful historic building during their visit.
As the museum covers 3 floors, and there is no lift, volunteers would need to be able to negotiate the building independently.
Room Steward volunteers should have a keen interest in the history of Lancaster, and in particular in the Judges’ Lodgings. They should be confident in sharing this knowledge with visitors when asked.
Training will be provided.
Our garden volunteers will be involved in keeping the grounds clean, tidy and attractive for visitors.
Although this role is around gardening, we are keen for volunteers to share their knowledge of the grounds and lodgings etc.
There will be some essential training for both roles.

Meet new people, have fun, share your knowledge, take on a challenge… get involved with us at Lancaster Judges’ Lodgings.
